Andy joined Tully & Holland in 2005 after 17 years of experience as a food industry executive and as an attorney. Prior to joining Tully & Holland he served as President and CEO of The Whipple Company, a manufacturer of branded, private-labeled and co-packed condiments, fruitspreads and pie fillings. While at Whipple, Andy repositioned and rejuvenated its Grandmother’s brand, and grew sales more than 50 percent by expanding product lines, broadening distribution channels and successfully targeting new markets. To support this growth, he expanded manufacturing capacity and built a new management structure and team. Finally, Andy led the company’s directors and stockholders through a strategic evaluation including divestiture options and then aggressively pursued multiple buyers for the best strategic and financial fit, achieving a sales price at a premium valuation.

Andy began his career as an attorney at Foley Hoag LLP, specializing in the practice of corporate law. For five years, Andy represented and advised clients in negotiating and closing many mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. In addition, his legal practice included private placements of equity and debt financings; initial public offerings and securities registrations; and venture capital fund formations and portfolio company investments.

Andy served as a Director of the International Jelly and Preserve Association for 10 years during his tenure at The Whipple Company, and since 1993 he has served on the Board of Corporators of Middlesex Savings Bank. In addition to his professional activities, since 1989 Andy has performed with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus in concerts, recordings and broadcasts with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Boston Pops.

Andy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude with highest honors in Economics, from Williams College. In addition, he holds a JD degree, cum laude, from the University of Michigan Law School.
